We continue to train at Ilford dojo, but are still awaiting access to our docklands venue and thank you for your patience. At Ilford we are using a booking-in system that is managed by way of an invite on a Friday for the following week. Once we are full an email is sent to inform the membership and successful applicants are told by return of email with payment details. Strange times, but its what we have to do at present to comply with covid-19 government restrictions.
Well done to those who returned to training this week despite the temperature being 34 degrees on Tuesday. It was a pleasure to see you again. We are operating a weekly booking process starting on Friday for the following week, so try and secure your place early as we are limited to numbers. Osu! Shihan Nick
At present we do not have a realistic return date for Docklands dojo but, we are pushing to get one. So apologies and thank you for your patience
We can now resume training at Ilford dojo, but under strict government covid restrictions. This means we are limited as to how many can train. We have therefore introduced a booking-in system to manage the numbers until such time as we can return to "normality". This makes it important for students to either pay in advance or honour the fact we have reserved a space for them by paying if they have taken a space. If due to unforeseen circumstances you need to cancel, then give us as much time as possible to open-up the space for someone else.
The hall is run by a church and they have asked for certain protocols to be in-place for them as well. So amongst other things can you do the following:
- Enter & Exit through the designated side doors
- Keep your distance from other students
- Only use the disabled toilet
- Bring your own bottled water
- Come in gi if you can.
- Wash your gi between sessions
- Use hand gel on arrival and departure
- Parent, drop-off your child at the entrance
- No spectators are allowed in the venue.
- Pay online as directed by space-confirmation-email or have the correct money in an envelope on arrival.
Copy of previous email sent:
We have a return date for ILFORD dojo ! . Tuesday 11th August .
In order to comply with government COVID guidance we will have to limit our student numbers to 15 per session, with this in mind we will need to operate a pre booking system to ensure we do not exceed capacity. This also means we will not have the space Available for any spectators. Parents will need to drop and collect students via the side doors
As close contact is still not allowed we will not be able to do sparring or partner work at this time. Students will not have any area to change in so please arrive in gi with your own water bottle . We will only have use of the one disabled toilet so students should ensure they have been to the toilet prior to attending so as to limit the use of this to emergencies only . Hand sanitizer will be provided and students entering the building will be required to use it .
If you would like to book your place please email me ASAP with the date of either Tuesday 11th or Thursday 13th ( or both days) once you have had a confirmation email of your booking we will give you banking info to make session payments . ( This is to avoid handling of cash ) however if you are unable to pay via a bank transfer please have the correct money in an envelope marked with your name.
The dojo fees are £8 adults £6 juniors
Three juniors from one family £15
Three members from same family ie 1 adult and 2 children £ 17
Unfortunately we are still under the coronavirus lockdown and will not be able to resume training until the government relaxes the rules to allow groups to train. In the meantime we hope you will keep yourselves in reasonable shape and make the best of a bad situation. We look forward to seeing you hopefully in the not too distant future.

As a result of the governments measures to contain the spread of the Corona virus, we have had to take the unfortunate decision of suspending training at both dojos until further notice. We will of course inform you as soon the time is deemed appropriate to resume. The important thing is everyone's health, so take appropriate measures to protect yourself, family and friends. See you in hopefully the not too distant future.
